Rapid HIV Testing: Beyond the Basics

Tuesday, April 7, 2009

About this audio conference

Building on an earlier audio conference that reviewed the basics of rapid HIV testing, this call will focus on more challenging issues that can arise with rapid testing. These include preparing staff to give false and confirmed positive test results, managing clinic flow and creative billing strategies. There will be time for participants to share challenges and successes with rapid HIV testing.

As a result of this audio conference, listeners will be able to:

  • Identify three things that can cause a false positive test result;
  • Identify the key components when giving clients positive rapid test results;
  • Identify important resources for clients testing positive;
  • Identify solutions to challenges that clinics have had in transitioning to rapid HIV testing.

Audience

Family Planning and reproductive health care staff.
