The Basics of Rapid HIV Testing
Tuesday, February 24, 2009
About this audio conference
Many clinics are moving from conventional HIV testing to rapid testing because it is easier to integrate into a family planning visit and clients get results before they leave the clinic. However, adding rapid testing to your menu of clinic services can sometimes present new challenges.
As a result of this audio conference, listeners will be able to:
- Explain the rationale for the 2006 CDC HIV testing recommendations;
- Explain Arizona laws regarding informed consent;
- Identify three issues to consider when choosing a rapid test;
- Identify the key components to successful implementation of rapid HIV testing.
Audience
Family Planning and reproductive health care staff.
