About This Workshop
F.L.A.S.H. is a comprehensive sexuality education curriculum that has been adopted and widely used by school districts in Washington and throughout the United States and Canada. First developed by King County Public Health between 1985 and 1992, revision of key lessons began in 2002 to accurately reflect advances in medicine. The curriculum aligns with current National Health Education Standards which are being used to model the updates to Idaho Health Education Standards.
Idaho State Department of Education and Idaho Department of Health and Welfare in collaboration with the Center for Health Training (CHT), announces two two-day training events for on the 7/8 F.L.A.S.H. (Family Life and Sexual Health) curriculum.

Audience
Districts and schools are encouraged to send a health education leadership team; this may include administrators, classroom teachers, school nurses, counselors, curriculum directors and after school coordinators.
Substitute Reimbursement
DOE will cover the cost for a substitute teacher upon request. Forms will be provided onsite. Please check in with Lisa Kramer at the event if you have questions about completion of your form.
Following the workshop participants will be able to:
- Describe the F.L.A.S.H. curricula for Grades 7/8 along with brief overview of other grade level F.L.A.S.H. curriculum (9-12 grades and special education).
- Explain how F.L.A.S.H. aligns with requirements outlined in the National Health Education Standards.
- Effectively address and respond to difficult questions raised by students.
- Identify and utilize resources for support and implementation of the F.L.A.S.H. curriculum.
Fees
This training is free of charge and includes one copy of F.L.A.S.H. 7/8 curriculum, lunch and additional training materials provided only to those that pre-register.
Continuing Education
College Credit is Available if you attend both days! Forms will be provided at the training.
