Conference Objectives

  • Describe techniques for IUC insertion and managing complications
  • Explain management of PCOS, abnormal uterine bleeding, PMS and female sexual dysfunction
  • Identify family planning clinical issues that are specific to adolescents
  • Describe the current cervical screening guidelines and latest STD prevention messages
  • Explain how media exposure introduces new health risks for teens
  • Gain skills for counseling hard-to-reach males
  • Identify strategies to increase contraceptive utilization
  • Manage common reproductive health problems in males
  • Explain how to prevent endometrial cancer

Who Should Attend

Clinical or health education staff who work in reproductive health care.

Location

Hyatt Regency Waikiki Resort & Spa, Honolulu, HI. Address and directions to the hotel will be included in your registration confirmation letter.

Confirmation

Letters of confirmation will be mailed two weeks prior to the conference. Participants are responsible for their own travel and lodging.

Registration and Payment

Registration fees shown below include continental breakfast, lunch and a light meal during the Optional Session. Enrollment is limited, so register early. Priority will be given to Title X funded agencies.

Special Note: Register EARLY! No late registrations will be accepted for the IUC Practicum and the session may fill up before the deadline (max. 50 participants). Registrations will be accepted on a first come basis.

Fees

  • Staff from agencies with Title X funds:
    $140 Conference/$30 Optional Session.
  • Staff from private or alternate funded agencies:
    $180 Conference/$40 Optional Session.
  • CE Hours: $65 Conference/$10 Optional Session.
  • Late fee: $30 per registration postmarked after the deadline.
  • Refunds: Fees are refundable only if cancellation is received five working days prior to the conference.

Pharmacology Credit

Continuing Education

WSNA
WSNA Center for Health Training is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Washington State Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Upon successful completion of this CE activity, up to 15.5 contact hours will be awarded.

Successful completion of this continuing nursing education activity includes the following:

  • attending the entire activity;
  • completion of the activity sign in form;
  • submission of a completed evaluation form.

CMEs
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Institute for Medical Quality and the California Medical Association’s CME Accreditation Standards (IMQ/CMA) through the Joint Sponsorship of the Hawaii Department of Health Family Planning Program, the California STD/HIV Prevention Training Center and Center for Health Training (CHT). CHT is accredited by IMQ/ CMA for issuing AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ for physicians. CHT takes responsibility for the content, quality and scientific integrity of this CME activity. Center for Health Training designates this educational activity for a maximum of 15 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. This credit may also be applied to the CMA Certification in Continuing Medical Education.

To receive credit, applicants must attend the entire conference, sign in daily as well as for the Optional Session, and present their license numbers. Pharmacology credits will be offered as indicated in the conference program.

NOTE: Participants may receive CE certificates at the end of Day 2 as long as registrations have been postmarked by April 9, 2010 and participants have paid in full. All other certificates will be mailed 4-6 weeks after the conference.

Registrations must be received by Friday, April 9, 2010.

During the online registration process you will have the option to pay for registration fees securely on line with a Visa or MasterCard. Just select "payment by credit card" and then after submitting your registration, select "pay now" to process your payment. There is an additional $3.00 processing fee per applicant for this option.
