Chlamydia Partner Management

Audio Conference

This event takes place via telephone; participants will call a toll free number and listen to a presentation while following along with written materials. You will have the opportunity to ask questions during several Q&A periods. Detailed instructions and handouts will be sent to the person who registers (aka The Caller). The Caller is also encouraged to register additional listeners for this event.

About This Audio Conference

Are you interested in learning how to motivate clients who have chlamydia to bring their sex partner(s) in for examination and treatment? Join our audio conference to learn about partner services and its role in STD infection management.

As a result of this audio conference, listeners will be able to:

  • define the rationale for chlamydia partner management
  • describe at least two strategies for partner management
  • describe guidelines for Expedited Partner Therapy

Audience

Clinicians, nurses, and any other family planning staff that counsel clients about STDs.

Speakers

Linda Creegan has over 25 years of clinical and teaching experience in the fields of STD management, family planning and HIV prevention. She is currently a Clinical Nurse Liaison for the CA STD/ HIV Prevention Training Center and a clinican at SF’s categorica\ clinic.

Denise Tafoya MPA, is the STD/HIV Partner Services/Program Support Training Coordinator for the CA STD/HIV Prevention Training Center. Denise has 20 years of experience as a certified CDC trainer, providing support in clinic and field settings as a Disease Intervention Specialist and as a STD Program Operations Manager serving Southern California.

Fees

All fees are per phone line:

  • Title X-funded agencies: $25
  • Private/Other funding: $45
  • Contact hours are an additional $10

A $10 late fee will be assessed for each registration received after the deadline. Fees can be refunded if cancellation is received five working days prior to the session.

Continuing Education

Center for Health Training is a CME accredited provider. Center for Health Training (CHT) designates this educational activity for a maximum of 1.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s). Physicians should claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. This credit may also be applied to the CMA Certification in Continuing Medical Education. CHT is accredited by the Institute for Medical Quality/California Medical Association for issuing AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s) for physicians. CHT takes responsibility for the content, quality and scientific integrity of this CME activity. All other applicants will receive certificates of participation.

Center for Health Training is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Washington State Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Upon successful completion of this CE activity, 1.5 contact hours will be awarded.

Successful completion of this continuing nursing education activity includes the following: attending the entire activity; completion of the activity sign in form; and submission of a completed evaluation form.
